Today we checked on our rock crystals. Hope to see some big changes by Monday. We finished up the rock chapter and will be testing out on Tuesday. Monday we will review and do a rock identification lab.

Thursday we will finish up the chapter and get our sugar crystals going as we have “seeded” them.
We are growing sugar crystals to better see first hand the process of crystal development.
Thursday is the test on Canada. Our next country to study will be Mexico.
Today we completed the minerals chapter and so for homework have the directed reading to complete and a vocabulary worksheet.
We were able to review today using the Promethean board. Thanks to Mr. Stearns and Mrs. Kurtenbach it is finally working.
Today we researched a US holiday online and tomorrow we will share what we learned about our holiday.
Today we read about some Americans — Sacajawea and the Apollo 11 mission crew. We also read an excerpt from “Tom Sawyer”. We are studying the United States and that is the reason for the articles.
Today we learned the criteria that all minerals must have to be classified as a mineral. Tomorrow we will be learning how to identify minerals.
Today was Twin Day for homecoming and I saw some pretty clever outfits.
